Wingtech has demanded that its Dutch subsidiary Nexperia present a plan to restore full control of the company following the Netherlands’ state intervention. In a social media post, Wingtech stated that it has attempted to contact Nexperia’s Netherlands-based headquarters for talks but has received no meaningful response.

The backdrop to the dispute is the Dutch government’s invocation of the rarely used Goods Availability Act to assume extraordinary powers over Nexperia, citing risks of technology leakage and strategic dependence. The intervention triggered retaliation from China – including an export ban on Nexperia’s Chinese-produced chips – putting pressure on European automakers dependent on Nexperia’s components.

While the Dutch government announced on 19 November that it would suspend its oversight order as a gesture of constructive diplomacy with China, separately issued governance orders by the court remain in place. As long as this schism between the European front-end and predominantly Chinese back-end units continues, Nexperia’s operations and supply remain under pressure.
