Wil van de Wiel relieves John van Soerland at the Xiver wheel

As of 16 June, Wil van de Wiel is the new CEO of Xiver, the MEMS foundry that was carved out from Philips in January. Van de Wiel takes over from John van Soerland, who led the transition phase to an independent entity and helped find his successor. Owned by Dutch investment company Orange Mills and operating a 2,650 m2 cleanroom at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, Xiver specializes in advanced MEMS manufacturing for diverse industries including medtech, industrial, automotive and photonics. Under the new leadership, the pure-play foundry will execute an ambitious plan to expand current capacity and capabilities.
After working for fifteen years at Philips and Bosch in the Netherlands, Van de Wiel embarked on an extensive career in the US, holding executive positions over two decades. Until recently, he headed Pallidus, a silicon carbide semiconductor company. Before joining Pallidus, he served as the CEO of several high-tech companies.
