The US-EU trade framework agreement reached on 27 July exempts semiconductor manufacturing equipment from tariffs, even as most EU goods face a flat 15 percent import duty in the United States. The exemption aligns with other strategic goods, including aircraft parts, certain chemicals and critical raw materials. These enjoy zero-for-zero tariff treatment between both sides. Semiconductors are not excluded from the 15-percent tariff.
