ASM keeps momentum thanks to AI chip market
Demand for gate-all-around (GAA) and high-bandwidth memory (HBM) kept ASM’s sales going in an otherwise weak market. The Almere-based company reported a revenue of 809 million euros in the fourth quarter of 2024, an increase of 27 percent compared to the same quarter last year. This result is at the upper end of the guidance, which was 770-810 million euros.
“The revenue increase in Q4 was driven by higher sales in leading-edge logic/foundry. Growth in the WFE market was uneven in 2024. AI-related segments continued to increase strongly,” says ASM CEO Hichem M’Saad. Other parts of the market, such as the automotive and industrial semiconductors, showed a mixed performance.
ASM repeated its guidance for 2025: 3.2-3.6 billion euros in revenue, a significant increase from 2.9 billion euros last year. This growth is expected to come from GAA and HBM. The firm sees no signs of recovery yet in other market segments.
