Nexperia hit by expanded US restrictions
Nexperia is impacted by fresh export controls announced by the US government this week. As reported by NRC, US firms can’t supply the Dutch chipmaker with restricted technologies once the new rules come into effect in two months. The firm told the Dutch newspaper that it has taken measures to ensure business operations can continue and that it will lodge an appeal, calling the measures “too broad and too heavy‑handed.”

Under the revised rules, any company that’s at least 50 percent owned by an entity already on the Entity List will itself be subject to the same export restrictions – even if it has a different name. Nexperia’s parent company, Wingtech, was added to that list last year.
