Photon Bridge finds launching customer for compact tunable laser PIC
In the Korean firm OE Solutions, Eindhoven-based Photon Bridge has found a first customer for its integrated tunable laser photonic integrated circuit (PIC). OE Solutions will use the chip inside its next-generation integrated tunable laser assembly (ITLA) modules. Qualification is ongoing, with broader PIC sampling to additional customers anticipated in Q4 2025. Module sampling from OE Solutions is anticipated in Q2 2026.

Photon Bridge’s product is a compact tunable laser designed to meet the growing demand for faster and more efficient connections between servers in AI datacenters. The chip integrates multiple optical functions, such as amplification, filtering and wavelength tuning. The underlying technology combines III-V semiconductors for light generation and silicon for guiding light.
“Photon Bridge’s integration technology is a genuine breakthrough,” said Y.K. Park, CEO at OE Solutions. “The ability to combine the best materials without compromise – and to do so with a scalable, cost-efficient process – enables compact, high-performance ITLAs and next-generation coherent modules. We’re excited to be the first to bring this platform into commercial products.”
