Eindhoven-based integrated-photonics company Effect Photonics has secured 40 million euros in additional funding. The capital comes from a group of investors led by Invest-NL and Innovation Industries, along with other existing investors. The new funding enables the company to accelerate product development and fuel go-to-market initiatives, specifically those related to its optical product portfolio and solutions for disaggregation of the key components for coherent optical interfaces.

Effect Photonics develops and markets optical transceivers for 5G and data center applications. Its products are based on a single photonic integrated circuit (PIC), featuring dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) functionality, which increases capacity, and tunable lasers, which enable automatic channel tuning.
