Leydenjar secures €23M funding to scale up silicon anode production
Silicon anode manufacturer Leydenjar has raised 13 million euros in equity financing, alongside 10 million euros in customer funding from a major US consumer electronics company. The combined 23 million will accelerate the completion of the firm’s Plantone production facility in Eindhoven and kick off full-scale operations by 2027.

Leydenjar’s proprietary silicon anodes – branded Silyte – promise a 50 percent increase in energy density, sub-12-minute charging and an 85 percent reduction in CO2 emissions. Plantone will deploy custom PECVD machinery to produce 125,000 square meters of silicon anode material annually, enough for 5 million smartphone batteries.
“This funding marks a pivotal moment for Leydenjar,” says CEO and co-founder Christian Rood. “We’re now moving from breakthrough lab innovation to full-scale production. Our technology is already integrated into the roadmaps of some of the world’s most ambitious product developers and with Plantone, we’ll be ready to deliver at scale.”
The 13-million-euro equity financing round was led by public investment bank Invest-NL and climate-oriented venture capital firm Extantia.
