Rick Clemmer to guide Xiver
Former NXP CEO Rick Clemmer will join Xiver as chairman of its advisory board and as an investor. The Eindhoven-based MEMS foundry aims to leverage Clemmer’s extensive semiconductor experience as it gears up for accelerated growth. “Rick’s appointment marks a pivotal moment for Xiver. With his deep industry knowledge, strategic insight as an investor and experience as an operator, he brings a unique and powerful combination to our advisory board,” says Kees Wesdorp, chairman of Xiver’s board of directors. Wesdorp previously worked with Clemmer at NXP.

Xiver specializes in designing and manufacturing high‑performance capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducers (CMUTs), beam optics and photonic MEMS for sectors such as medtech, automotive, defense and photonics. “The impressive technology and know-how of the uniquely talented staff provide an excellent foundation for a bright future,” comments Clemmer.
Rick Clemmer is a veteran semiconductor executive and investor, best known for his leadership at NXP from 2009 to 2020. Before taking the helm there, he was a senior advisor at private equity firm KKR, which led the 2006 buyout of Philips Semiconductors – renamed NXP. Clemmer previously served as president and CEO of Agere Systems and held senior roles at Texas Instruments and Quantum Corporation.
