Semi: equipment sales to rebound in 2020

Echoing a prognosis by IC Insights, Semi expects a rather steep drop in wafer fab equipment sales: by 18.4 percent to be precise. The market researcher and the trade organization have different expectations for next year, however. Though a recovery may start later in the year, IC Insights doesn’t see a return to full-year growth happening in 2020, predicting a 5 percent decline. Semi, on the other hand, expects the market to recover on the strength of memory spending and new projects in China. It currently forecasts 11.6 percent growth.
