The global semiconductor market generated 702 billion US dollars in revenue during the first half of 2026, more than doubling compared with the same period a year earlier, according to the latest figures from the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics organization. Revenue increased by 102 percent year-over-year as demand for AI infrastructure, high-performance computing and advanced memory continued to fuel industry expansion. Memory was the standout segment with 305 percent growth, while logic increased 45 percent. All other major product categories also posted year-over-year gains.

Based on the latest data, WSTS projects the global semiconductor market to reach 1.7 trillion dollars in 2026, representing annual growth of about 108 percent. That’s 18 percentage points above the organization’s original Spring estimate. For 2027, the market is projected to grow another 29 percent to roughly 2.1 trillion US dollars.
