Taiwanese memory maker Nanya Technology is preparing to join the group of chipmakers using EUV lithography, giving ASML another customer for its flagship exposure systems. The company’s board of directors has approved an investment of 10.7 billion US dollars to expand manufacturing capacity of 10nm-class DRAM over the 2026-2030 timeframe. “EUV will be deployed” to produce these chips, Nanya writes in a press release.

With an annual revenue of 2 billion dollars last year, Nanya is tiny compared to the world’s memory behemoths SK Hynix and Samsung, whose sales amount to roughly 70 billion dollars. The AI-driven increase in demand for memories is an opportunity for Nanya to grow sales, CEO Pei-Ing Lee said in a press briefing in July.
