Nobel Prize winner: ASML is trump card in EU’s negotiations with US

Renowned economist Paul Krugman advises the European Union to use ASML as a pressure lever in tariff negotiations. “The US depends on ASML. That results in a strong position. If the EU threatens to block some exports, there’s a considerable chance that Trump will give in and the trade war will come to an end,” says the Nobel Prize winner and former New York Times columnist in Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant. He seems unaware that ASML manufactures several key components in the US.
