Semi sales top $600B for the first time
Global semiconductor sales hit 627 billion dollars in 2024, up 19.1 percent over the year before. Fourth-quarter sales of 171 billion dollars were 17.1 percent more than the fourth quarter of 2023, and 3.0 percent higher than the third quarter of 2024. “The global semiconductor market experienced its highest-ever sales year in 2024, topping 600 billion dollars in annual sales for the first time, and double-digit market growth is projected for 2025,” says John Neuffer, CEO of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), which publishes the sales data compiled by the WSTS.
Logic products brought in a total of 212.6 billion dollars in 2024, making it the largest product category by sales. Memory products were second in terms of sales, increasing by 78.9 percent in 2024 to a total of 165.1 billion dollars. DRAM products, a subset of memory, recorded an 82.6 percent sales increase, the largest percentage growth of any product category in 2024.
