Dutch consortium to create industry-applicable AI
In the next four years, Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS) will work with a consortium of academic and industrial partners to develop an artificial intelligence toolkit for industrial applications, consisting of algorithms and methods. The development will be financed by NWO through project Certif-AI (Certification of Production Process Quality through Artificial Intelligence), which will start on 1 September this year.
The Certif-AI project aims to use the large amounts of data generated by machines and in production processes to certify processes, improve product quality and diagnose problems. For the industrial end-users, this means fewer errors in production and, thus, lower costs or greater process reliability and a better product or service. Not only is the project academically innovative by applying AI techniques to real-time sensor data, but JADS and consortium partners also contribute to the deployment of AI for specific industrial applications.
The AI toolkit will be developed and implemented by a research team from JADS, Eindhoven University of Technology (TUE), Tilburg University and Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. Four specific applications have been defined by Additive Industries, Damen Shipyards, Omron and VTEC. Sioux Mathware, Brightcape and Unit040 will assist in the implementation of the toolkit, in collaboration with Utrecht University of Applied Sciences and PDEng researchers from JADS.
