Signaling potential progress toward a reset in diplomatic relations, the Dutch and Chinese foreign ministers have spoken for the first time since both countries became embroiled in a row over chipmaker Nexperia. After the phone call, China’s Wang Yi hailed “positive signals” from his Dutch counterpart Tom Berendsen, according to the South China Morning Post. Previously, Chinese officials were unyielding in the conflict.

Two weeks ago, Nexperia China accused the Dutch headquarters of sabotaging back-end operations by cutting IT access, a claim the latter vehemently denied.
