Intel fab construction reportedly delayed in Israel as well
Intel has paused construction work for a manufacturing site in Kiryat Gat, according to Israeli media. Asked about the report, the US chip firm indicated that big projects are susceptible to changing timelines. “Israel continues to be one of our key global manufacturing and R&D sites and we remain fully committed to the region,” Intel wrote in a statement distributed to the media.

Two weeks ago, a German newspaper reported that Intel had pushed out construction of chip plants in eastern Germany. That delay was said to be caused by additional costs related to preparing the site, for which Intel isn’t prepared to foot the bill until the EU has cleared the state aid promised by the German government.
