Nvidia overtakes Samsung, Intel in revenue

Nvidia has surged past Samsung and Intel to grab the no. 1 position in Gartner’s top 10 semiconductor vendors by revenue. The fabless saw demand for AI accelerator chips skyrocket last year, taking sales to 76.7 billion dollars, an increase of 120 percent over 2023. Samsung Electronics retained the runner-up spot, driven by gains in both DRAM and flash memory. Intel’s roughly stable revenue earned it third place. Pure-play foundries aren’t included in Gartner’s ranking; if they were, TSMC would take first place with 2024 revenues of 88.9 billion US dollars.
