US LED firm Luminus Devices has embraced the nano-engineered phosphor technology developed by Amsterdam-based Seaborough. The EuroLED material features narrow emissions in the red spectral range, which is useful to produce warm white light. It emits 10-20 percent more lumens per watt than existing phosphors used for that purpose. Additionally, EuroLED is more durable and cost-effective and utilizes only fully inorganic and non-toxic constituents. “After almost a decade of research, I’m excited to be taking this very important step forward in bringing our EuroLED technology to the market,” says CEO Marie Anne van de Haar of Seaborough.
