’Een drama‘, noemde minister Henk Kamp van Economische Zaken in Nieuwsuur de discrepantie tussen de oplopende werkloosheid in Nederland en de stijgende behoefte aan technisch personeel. ’We hebben veel te lang te weinig aandacht besteed aan techniek, zowel in het basisonderwijs als op de vervolg- en lerarenopleidingen. Dat hebben we verkeerd laten groeien zo, dus we moeten dat niet alleen aanpakken, we moeten die aanpak ook een paar jaar volhouden, zodat er een andere cultuur ontstaat.‘
