TNO spinoff Tracxon has received 1 million euros from 819 Capital Partners to accelerate the development of its roll-to-roll via printer for flexible hybrid electronics. This machine is intended to enable the production of multilayer, double-sided circuits on foil. Commercial introduction is planned for mid-2027. A year ago, the Eindhoven-based company already raised 4.75 million euros.

Rather than etching electronic circuits from copper layers onto a circuit board, Tracxon prints these circuits using special ink onto ultra-thin foil. The foils used can be flexible, stretchable and recyclable. In its integrated production line, the company combines the printing of foil rolls with further assembly steps. It aims to replace traditional, hard-to-recycle circuit boards in applications including medical devices, industrial IoT devices and vehicles with a sustainable alternative.
