Analog chip market lines up for 12 percent growth

The analog IC market is set for another year of double-digit growth, says IC Insights. Recovering from the pandemic-caused recession, analog sales surged by an unprecedented 30 percent in 2021 and is expected to grow another 12 percent in this year. Growing shipments of 5G cellphone handsets and the infrastructure to support them are one of the key reasons that the communications segment is forecast to account for the largest portion of analog IC sales in 2022. Power management ICs are forecast to be the second-largest analog segment this year, followed by automotive.
