The Netherlands and Singapore are intensifying their collaboration in the semiconductor industry. On the sidelines of the Semicon East Asia conference, companies, research institutions and governments are solidifying their mutual ties. Among others, Nearfield Instruments and Sioux Technologies have found new partners in the city-state.
Nearfield has entered into a multi-year research agreement with AStar Institute of Microelectronics (IME). The partnership aims to accelerate the development of advanced metrology solutions supporting heterogeneous integration techniques, which have even tighter process control requirements, necessitating new metrology solutions. The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (AStar) is Singapore’s leading public sector R&D agency. It runs research institutes in the biomedical and physical sciences, as well as for engineering disciplines.
