ASM International intends to nominate semiconductor industry veteran Rutger Wijburg to its supervisory board. Shareholders will vote on his appointment at an extraordinary general meeting expected in early March 2027. Ahead of the shareholder vote, ASM will use the coming months to familiarize Wijburg with the company’s activities and governance.
Wijburg brings more than thirty years of experience in the semiconductor industry. He joined Infineon in 2018 and served as chief operations officer and member of the management board from 2022 until 2025. Earlier in his career, he held management roles at Globalfoundries, NXP and Philips Semiconductors. He currently serves on the supervisory boards of Zeiss and Smart Photonics.
