Kofi Makinwa saluted as ISSCC’s most prolific contributor of all time

The International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) has recognized Delft University of Technology’s Kofi Makinwa as the event’s top contributor over the past 70 years. An expert in the design of mixed-signal circuits, sensor interfaces and smart sensors, Makinwa has presented more than 70 papers at the annual meeting widely accepted as ‘the Olympics of chip design.’ True to form, Makinwa and his students presented a record eight papers at the most recent ISSCC, 19-23 February in San Francisco.

The list of top contributors features many more designers from the Low Lands. The University of Twente’s Bram Nauta claims the tenth spot, closely followed by Imec Fellow Piet Wambacq. Jan Craninckx (Imec), Michiel Steyaert (KU Leuven), Johan Huijsing (TU Delft) and Eric Klumperink (UT) also find themselves among the world’s most prolific innovators in integrated circuit design.
