Global 300mm fab equipment spending for front-end facilities next year is expected to begin a growth streak to a 119-billion-dollar record high, Semi projects. The rise follows an expected 18 percent drop to 74 billion dollars this year. “The projected equipment spending growth wave underscores the strong secular demand for semiconductors,” says Semi CEO Ajit Manocha. “The foundry and memory sectors will figure prominently in this expansion, pointing to demand for chips across a wide breadth of end markets and applications.”
Global 300mm fab equipment spending is forecast to rise 12 percent to 82 billion dollars in 2024, 24 percent to 101.9 billion dollars in 2025 and 17 percent to 118.8 billion dollars in 2026. Foundry is projected to lead other segments in equipment spending at 62.1 billion dollars in 2026, an increase from 44.6 billion dollars in 2023, followed by memory at 42.9 billion dollars, a 170 percent increase from 2023.
