Sencure expands medical chip design team to Nijmegen

Medical chip expert Sencure has opened an R&D office at the Noviotech Campus in Nijmegen. The company is headquartered in Roden and has an existing design site in Enschede, but the latter is nearing capacity. The additional location ensures that it can continue to expand its team and projects while significantly enhancing the talent pool.

“We were looking to grow our chip design team,” states Sencure CEO Dick van Waes. “This new office in Nijmegen allows us to achieve that. Initially, five people will start there, with room for further growth.” The five are former employees of Goodix’s chip design center in Nijmegen, which has its roots in NXP.

Formerly ItoM Medical, Sencure develops chip technology for medical devices and health-tracking wearables. Its flagship, the SNCE-800, enables medical wearable biosensors to capture high-quality signals like ECG and EEG while operating on minimal power consumption. This gives healthcare professionals invaluable insights into physiological conditions without sacrificing comfort or battery life. Target applications include remote monitoring and diagnostics for cardiac, neurological and respiratory cases.
