StartupDelta gets a sequel: TechLeap.NL
With renewed support from the government, StartupDelta will continue its mission to facilitate Dutch tech start-ups and scale-ups as TechLeap.NL. From 1 July onward, the remolded organization will focus on knowledge development about the start-up ecosystem, creating new initiatives in the ecosystem and connecting Dutch top scale-ups with investors and programs worldwide. Prince Constantijn van Oranje will stay on as Special Envoy.
Mona Keijzer, the Dutch state secretary of Economic Affairs and Climate, has agreed to fund TechLeap.NL with 65 million euros over the next four years. Additionally, she has announced that the cabinet will look at policy changes aimed at bottlenecks in personnel management. Among the actions under considerations are adjusting the Dutch stock options tax regime and offering residence permits for non-EU key personnel. Improving start-ups’ and scale-ups’ access to funding and venture capital is also a priority.
“With TechLeap.NL, the Netherlands is running for European leadership in tech. Being one interconnected delta, we’re in a position where we can work as one unit to push the Netherlands forward together,” said Prince Constantijn van Oranje. “The success of the Netherlands is driven by an international culture of openness, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. With this new action plan, we want to build the best ecosystem in Europe,” added Mona Keijzer.
