“US wants to ban more Chinese firms from buying ASML’s top DUV scanners”
A US official has recently visited the Netherlands to discuss expanding export restrictions for chipmaking equipment, the Dutch foreign ministry confirmed to Reuters. In a meeting, US Commerce Under Secretary Alan Estevez attempted to convince the Dutch authorities to add another 11 Chinese fabs to the list of facilities banned from purchasing ASML’s advanced DUV equipment. There are currently five such facilities on the list. Estevez subsequently headed to Japan to engage in similar discussions, according to the report.
