Flanders promotes industrial innovation with 15 million euros

The Flemish government is providing an extra 14.8 million euros to promote ambitious entrepreneurship and innovation in Flanders. The government is outsourcing a package of services specifically aimed at industry to technology federation Agoria and technology center Sirris. For this contract, Agoria and Sirris will enter into a partnership with 21 organizations across different sectors. The project starts on 1 July and will run for four years, amounting to 3.7 million euros per year.

The government aims to increase the knowledge level on a range of topics within industry. These include digital transformation and organization, value creation through artificial intelligence, increased awareness of the opportunities and risks of cybersecurity, value creation with smart products and digital services, circular economy, climate and energy and shifting towards “factories of the future” and “digital factories.”

The broad partnership of 21 organizations is composed of sector federations, collective centers, spearhead clusters, strategic research centers, cluster organizations and Flemish scientific institutions. All are separately connected to the Flemish Agency for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Vlaio).
