Belgium’s Space Applications Services is receiving 10 million euros from the Flemish investment company PMV. The company intends to use the money to commercialize technology that’s currently developed mainly within separate space and defense projects, opening it up to a broader market.

Space Applications Services works on robotics, autonomous systems and software used to plan and monitor space missions from the ground. The company from Sint-Stevens-Woluwe applies the expertise built up in space to defense purposes, such as detecting and neutralizing sea mines and coordinating multiple drones in the air, on land and at sea.
Space Applications Services aims to keep growing in the commercial space and defense markets. PMV claims the investment anticipates the creation of its own defense fund.
