The global semiconductor market expanded by 18.9 percent year-over-year in the first half of 2025, reaching 346 billion dollars, according to the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS). Growth was driven by strong demand for logic and memory products, supported by data center investments and early adoption of AI edge applications. Logic revenue rose 37 percent, memory 20 percent, and sensors 16 percent. Analog and micro segments posted 4 percent growth each, while discretes and optoelectronics declined slightly.

Following these results, WSTS revised its 2025 forecast upward by four percentage points to 728 billion dollars, representing 15.4 percent growth for the year. The 2026 projection was also raised slightly, with the market expected to grow 9.9 percent to 800 billion dollars. Logic and memory are expected to remain the key drivers, with full-year growth forecasts adjusted to 29 percent and 17 percent, respectively.
