Chuck del Prado has notified ASM International’s supervisory board that he wishes to retire as CEO and president of the company. “There is never a perfect moment to step down as CEO but given the commercial, financial and technological health of ASMI, I believe the company is well-positioned to undergo a change of leadership,” says Del Prado, who has indicated that he wishes to pursue a more family-oriented life. ASMI has already started the search for a successor. Shareholders will be asked to confirm the new appointment at the next annual meeting in May 2020.
