Neways has announced the acquisition of Philips Micro Devices, a specialist in high-end, low-volume microelectronics assembly. The deal, expected to close in early 2026, adds advanced microsystems expertise and a roster of “strategic” customers in defense, semicon and medical markets to Neways’ portfolio. Approximately 70 highly skilled employees will transfer to the Son-based EMS provider.

Neways’ CEO Hans Büthker called the acquisition “a key addition” that aligns with the company’s strategy to lead in advanced electronics for strategic sectors, particularly in defense. Earlier this year, the firm announced a major push in this market.
