Agricultural sensing partners Spectrik and VTEC strengthen ties

VTEC Lasers and Sensors has become a shareholder of Spectrik, the Eindhoven-based startup working on photonic gas sensors for the agricultural sector. The two firms were already partners, with Spectrik developing the photonic integrated circuit (PIC) around which VTEC is designing a sensing system. “VTEC brings years of expertise in both product development as well as laser and sensor technology, thereby supporting Spectrik to accelerate the development and scaling of advanced solutions in this technology area for the agriculture industry, and beyond,” a press release reads. Spectrik and VTEC are currently preparing to start large-scale field tests, with prototypes designed for high-volume production.
