Director Bert Krikke leaves Novio Tech Campus

Bert Krikke is relinquishing his position as director of Novio Tech Campus (NTC) in Nijmegen, effective 1 July. His sudden leaving is prompted by a difference of opinion with the campus board regarding the course to be followed. Krikke is going back to real-estate and area development with his own company. The campus board has appointed Wald Been as interim director.

Since he succeeded Rikus Wolbers only two years ago, Krikke has played an important role in the further development of NTC’s organization and expansion plans. These plans aim for a doubling of the building area (to approximately 300,000 m²) and the number of employees (to approximately 7,000). The first project, the new Frontrunner building, is scheduled to open next year, but construction has yet to start as the developer is waiting for minimal occupancy requirements to be met.

According to the press release, “The change in management is driven by a revised perspective on the area and real-estate development of the campus. This necessitates a re-evaluation of the implementation timeline and financing plans. To facilitate this process, Oost NL will be actively involved in the reorientation. Oost NL has been a key contributor to the development of Novio Tech Campus since its inception in 2013.”
