Lionix co-founder and CTO Heideman steps aside
Ronald Dekker has been appointed CTO of Lionix International. He’ll succeed René Heideman, who co-founded the Enschede-based integrated photonics and MEMS firm in 2001 and served as top technical executive ever since. Heideman will stay with the company to focus on strategic business development.
Dekker received his PhD on an integrated-photonics topic from the University of Twente in 2006. He spent his entire post-academic career at Lionix and its life sciences subsidiary Xio Photonics, which was reabsorbed into the parent company in 2017. Over the past seven years, Dekker served as technical liaison officer.
“After working for 17 years at Lionix International and its spinouts, I’m excited and feel honored to take over the role as CTO from René Heideman. I look very much forward to continuing his work, facilitating further innovation and success,” says Dekker.
