TNO expands chip packaging R&D with CITC integration

Dutch research and technology organization TNO is absorbing the Chip Integration Technology Center (CITC) in Nijmegen into its High Tech Industry unit. “In the coming years, TNO aims to play a key role in the development of advanced chip packaging in the Netherlands. By integrating CITC into TNO, we can intensify and expand our research efforts,” says Arnaud de Jong, director of High Tech Industry at TNO.

Founded in 2019 as an independent innovation hub by partners including TNO and Delft University of Technology, CITC specializes in heterogeneous integration and advanced packaging for chips. The absorption will be formalized on 1 January 2026. The center will remain located at the Noviotech Campus in Nijmegen.
