Martin van den Brink steps down from ASM supervisory board

28 April 2026

Reading time: 1 minute

ASM International has announced the immediate resignation of Martin van den Brink from its supervisory board, less than two years after his appointment in May 2024. The decision follows an internal assessment that “his other professional activities could, over time, create overlapping interests.” Both parties agreed to the move to prevent any actual or perceived conflicts from arising.

The nature of the conflict of interest isn’t specified. One possibility is Van den Brink’s ongoing advisory role at ASML, which is preparing an entrance in the 3D integration arena, while ASM is part owner of ASMPT, a back-end equipment manufacturer also offering advanced packaging solutions. Van den Brink is also involved with startups Invisix (semiconductor metrology) and CuspAI (materials design with AI).

ASM didn’t immediately announce a successor.
