Dutch polysilicon facility gets going
The development of a Dutch ultra-pure polysilicon plant has entered its basic engineering phase. Resilicon, the startup driving the initiative, has secured a license from Advanced Material Solutions (AMS) for polysilicon process technology and taken on Fluor Corporation as its engineering, procurement and construction contractor. The project is backed by more than 14 million euros in early funding from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Province of Groningen, development agency NOM and enterprise agency RVO.

Founded by PV veteran Gosse Boxhoorn, the silicon plant in Delfzijl aims to become one of the world’s most sustainable polysilicon production sites by achieving high efficiency and running entirely on renewable energy. Total project financing is expected to reach 900 million euros, with further development, permitting and stakeholder engagement now underway under the guidance of KPMG.
