Vinotion captured by Nedinsco

Optomechatronics specialist Nedinsco has acquired the AI-based vision experts of Vinotion. With the Eindhoven University of Technology spinoff, the company from Venlo enhances its technological capabilities, particularly in software development and advanced video analytics, enabling it to deliver more integrated solutions to its customers. For Vinotion, the acquisition opens up new markets.

Vinotion was founded in 2007 as a spinoff from TUE’s Video Coding and Architectures research group. The company develops and deploys AI video analytics solutions based on deep learning algorithms, computer vision and smart camera sensor technology. Its current focus markets are crowd and traffic control and defense.

Founded in 1921 as the “Nederlandsche Instrumenten Compagnie” (Dutch Instruments Company) by the German firm Carl Zeiss of Jena, Nedinsco specializes in the design and manufacturing of high-end optical systems. Its portfolio includes high-quality and 360-degree cameras, day and night vision solutions, periscopes, sensor platforms and direct vision modules for defense, semicon, metrology, offshore and many other applications. The acquisition of Vinotion aligns with Nedinsco’s growth strategy to continuously innovate and expand its capabilities for the defense and industrial sectors.
